Kamini Kapur

Director of Training, AMI 6-12 Trainer

Kamini Kapur is an AMI Elementary Director of Training at JFA Montessori TTC, Kolkata. She is also co-directing an Elementary Diploma Course at VHMI Chandigarh and is part of the pedagogical team on the Diploma Course at the Montessori Institute, Bangalore. In addition, she actively promotes Montessori principles and practices through orientation courses, workshops, consultation, and mentorship initiatives for Montessori schools, supporting teachers in their practice. 

With over two decades of experience working with children, Kamini brings invaluable insights to adult training. Her professional expertise includes serving as a national examiner for AMI Elementary courses in both the UK and India. She holds AMI certifications for Elementary and Primary levels and is currently pursuing a diploma at the adolescent age level.

Passionate about environmental stewardship, Kamini is dedicated to instilling an appreciation for nature and a sense of environmental responsibility in both children and adults. She promotes hands-on learning and sustainable living practices, fostering meaningful engagement with the natural world.

Suganthi Vijayakumar

AMI 6 to 12 Trainer-in-Training

Suganthi Vijayakumar is a highly dedicated AMI trainer-in-training specializing in the education of children aged 6 to 12.

She is poised to lecture and collaborate with Kamini Kapur in directing the AMI diploma program at the prestigious JFA Montessori Teacher Training Centre (TTC) in Kolkata, where they will facilitate effective Montessori principles and practices in training adults.

Holding a master’s degree in English literature, Suganthi possesses a strong foundation in language skills and literacy development. She has also earned AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) diplomas at both the elementary and primary levels, reinforcing her expertise in Montessori education.

With extensive experience working with children across diverse cultural contexts in Australia, India, and Indonesia, Suganthi has cultivated a profound understanding of various learning styles and educational needs. This experience has enriched her ability to mentor aspiring educators.

Currently, Suganthi Vijayakumar serves as part of the training team for the diploma course at MPS, Milwaukee, USA.

She is also a Director at the Indonesia Montessori Centre, where her work continues to inspire and empower future educators.

Aparna Iyer

Director of Training (3-6)

Aparna Iyer brings her rich experience of nearly two decades of working with children and parents and leading a team of teachers. She obtained her AMI Primary Diploma in the year 2008 and soon after, established the Montessori division in National Public School, Chennai working as a teacher and coordinator for over a decade. She is currently the Director of Pedagogy in Global Montessori Centre (A Part of the NPS Group), Chennai. Simultaneously, she pursued the rigorous AMI Training of Trainers Program, becoming an AMI 3-6 Trainer.

Aparna Iyer first started working with young children informally, as a volunteer with an International Peace Organization, conducting values and culture sessions for children. This led her to work formally in a Lebanese Kindergarten School in Ghana, in the year 2006, where she lived at that time. During her work in the kindergarten, she intuitively began to search for a meaningful pedagogy which led her to her Montessori journey from which she has never looked back.

Aparna serves as a National examiner for AMI Primary courses. She has done her AMI Orientation courses at 0-3, 6-12 and 12-18 age levels. She believes in continuous professional development and has undertaken the Montessori Core Principles and the Montessori Administrators Courses. She is passionate about reaching Montessori to the far corners of the country and toward that end, has offered orientation courses at Nagercoil, Kanyakumari district.

Madhavi Latha Polipalli

Co-Lecturer

Madhavi Latha has over 16 years of experience co-founding and managing Little Scholars Montessori House of Children in Hyderabad and continues to manage it along with her co-founder. Madhavi holds a degree in Law and is currently pursuing a B.Ed. in Special Education. She also holds AMI Diplomas at 3-6 and 6-12 levels. Additionally, she has undertaken AMI certificate courses at 0-3 and 12-18 levels and Montessori Sports. She was part of the Training Team at the Maria Montessori Institute (MMI), London for a year of her Trainer in Training Program.

As an AMI 3-6 Associate Trainer and Examiner for Primary courses, Madhavi Latha brings extensive expertise to her role. Madhavi Latha is deeply committed to the Montessori philosophy and values, and fosters supportive communities through workshops for students, parents and staff, helping establish nurturing environments for children. She is a passionate advocate for children’s right to optimal development. Madhavi Latha also contributes to the Indian Montessori Foundation’s efforts to promote Montessori education in India and is currently working with a team to translate Dr. Montessori’s book, “The Child in the Family” into Telugu.
